The works on this site all have in common that they were created by François Dupuis and printed by hand using a hand-operated printing press. The artist using a combination of creativity, craftsmanship and ancient techniques and tools. Showing a skill with these traditional methods  that is quite rare in this era of computer animations and high-tech printers.

Each drawing and each print is made by hand. The techniques used are on the one hand engraving and etching to make engravings that allow multiple prints. And on the other hand painting on metal plates to create one-off prints called monotypes. Follow the links in this text or in the pull-down menu for more information about these techniques.
